Your Wedding Time Line

Your Wedding Time Line is one of the most important things that you should adhere to.  As preparing for the Wedding is a big project, the timeline can help keep you on track for when and what needs to be done.

Think of yourselves as project managers. Establish an overall framework to complete
each part of your plan, and set specific goals, schedules and deadlines. Take one small task at a time, this way the details become more manageable. Here is our suggested time table for the Bride & Groom to follow, and the steps you should take in the months, weeks and days leading up to your wedding.

NINE MONTHS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING:

Choose your wedding date. If you plan to be married in a church or temple, clear
the date with your officiant. Announce your intentions to your families.

Prepare a Formal Announcement of your engagement for local newspapers.

Set your budget. Take time for a heart-to-heart talk with your fiance about
finances. Consider the style of your wedding reception and any wedding-related
parties, then decide who pays for what.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Consider hiring a Professional Bridal Consultant or ask relatives and close friends to assist you in specific tasks such as selecting a dress, interviewing caterers, touring banquet halls, etc.

Compose your guest list. Let out-of-town guests know your wedding date so they
can make travel plans.

Reserve your reception site.

Choose your Maid of Honor, Best Man, Bridesmaids, Ushers & all attendants.

Begin planning your Bridal Registry.

Select your wedding gown, shoes and accessories.

Choose your bridesmaids’ dresses.

Decide the theme you want to establish with the food, table settings, flowers and entertainment at your reception.

Interview caterers, musicians, florists, photographers, videographers and bakers. Get written estimates. Feel free to negotiate additional services from vendors such as: a rehearsal dinner from your caterer, engagement portraits from your hotographer, etc. Keep track of your discussions, prices and bids in our Wedding Planner.

Discuss and explore Honeymoon choices.

Begin planning an Engagement Party.
