requirements:
American
citizens born in the U.S. require either a valid non-cancelled passport or an original state issued birth certificate (issued
by the Department of Health & Vital Statistics) accompanied by a valid photo ID. Please note that copies of birth certificates
are not acceptable. American citizens born outside the U.S. require either an American valid non-cancelled passport or
an original naturalization certificate accompanied by a valid photo ID. Please note that passport application receipts
will not be accepted for travel.
Effective June
1, 2009, as required by U.S. Government, U.S. citizens, will be required to be in possession of a valid passport when traveling
with Discovery to or from the Bahamas.
U.S. legal alien residents must present their non-expired alien resident card. (U.S. legal alien residents
that are Bahamian citizens must also present their Bahamian passport). Canadian citizens require either a Canadian passport
or a Canadian citizenship ID accompanied by another valid Canadian government issued photo ID. All
other travelers must have valid passports from their country of origin in conjunction with a multiple entry U.S. visa and
if necessary a Bahamian visa, (please check with the Bahamian Consulate).
Passengers
under 18 years of age (traveling without their parents or guardian) require a notarized written parental consent for travel and must be accompanied by an adult (download form here). Advance reservations and payment required.
Please allow at least two hours for check in.
Cancellations or changes prior to sailing, no shows or passengers denied boarding, are subject to a $25
charge per person; future reservations may be made for $25 per person re-booking fee. Cruise tickets are valid for a maximum
period of six months from original sailing date. Other policies and penalties may apply to group travel not booked online.
ALL CREDIT CARDS USED AS FORM OF PAYMENT MUST BE PRESENTED UPON CHECK-IN. IF CARD IS NOT PRESENTED OR OWNER
OF CREDIT CARD IS NOT SAILING, A NEW FORM OF PAYMENT WILL BE REQUIRED.
Cruise 'N Stay Vacation Packages:
Effective March 1st – April 30th,
2009; except for the all inclusive Wyndham resort - Kids 12 and under sail & stay free (one child 12 or under per full
fare paying adult in the same room).
Cruise and stay vacation package rates
are per person, based on double occupancy. Except for all-inclusive categories, rates do not include hotel taxes and gratuities. Prices may be higher on weekends and holidays. Rates, facilities and services subject to change without notice.
Reservations cancelled or changed at least seven (7) days prior to the day
of sailing are subject to a $25 charge per person. Reservations cancelled within seven (7) days prior to sailing are subject
to a one room night hotel charge and $25, per person. No shows, passengers denied boarding, and cancellations within 72 hours
are non-refundable, but are transferable subject to penalties for up to six months from original date of sailing. Wyndham
Viva Fortuna packages are non refundable if cancelled less than seven (7) days prior to sailing. No Food or beverages
may be brought on board. One conventional luggage piece will be carried free of charge per traveling adult passenger.
Second luggage piece will be $15. Additional pieces $25. Minimum age for sailing is 6 months. This is a liability insurance dictated company policy which
takes into consideration the safety and comfort of infants and their parents as well as all other guests. Discovery
understands the legality of this policy and it is not discriminatory and does not violate any applicable laws. Discovery will
not make exceptions and does not allow for the signing of waivers or releases to make an exception to the policy Guests
who are 24 weeks or more into their pregnancy on the date of embarkation will not be allowed to sail. Pregnant women less
than 24 weeks must submit, prior to departure, a letter from their attending physician certifying the gestational period and
that the expecting mother is fit to sail.
HURRICANE POLICY:
Please note that in the event of a hurricane watch or warning being posted by the National Hurricane Center for Southeast
Florida or the Northern Bahamas during the time of your travel, you may cancel or rebook your trip without penalty. Any passengers
vacationing on the island during the posting of a hurricane watch or warning who may wish to return from the island earlier
